Frequently Asked Questions Concerning the Denver Kids Consignment  Sale

  1. What time can the public shop?
Friday evening – 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Saturday morning – 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.
  1. What forms of payment do you take?
CASH ONLY
  1. When should I get in line?
The line for our Friday night sale begins to form on most occasions around 4:00pm.  Due to fire codes, we can only allow a certain amount of people into the sale at one time.  There are 2 lines.  One goes into gym with clothing, bedding and car seats and the other goes into a building with toys and equipment.

  1. What do you mean when you say Saturday is a ½ price sale?
On the Saturday of our sale, items that are NOT marked with an NR will be reduced by ½ at the register.  Keep in mind that we do not keep pennies in our register, so we do round up to the nearest nickel.
  1. Are strollers allowed into the sale?
Unfortunately, no; this sale has been so blessed that we cannot allow strollers into the sale for the safety of other shoppers.

  1. What size clothing will we find at the sale?
Our sale is from newborn through juniors.  We also have maternity clothing.
  1. Is child care provided for shoppers and/or consignors working?
Unfortunately, no.  Kids are allowed in our sale for shopping only, but they must stay with you at all times.  During consignor work times, we do ask, for their safety, that they are not brought.

  1. How do I become a consignor?
We allow 200 consignors into each sale.  Past consignors have a chance to sign up first, then those on a waiting list are invited to participate.  If you are interested in being on our waiting list, please feel free to email
  1. What percentage to consignors make from their sales?
Denver Baptist Church does not consider the sale a fund-raiser, so 90% of the price marked goes back to the consignor.  The 10% simply covers our cost of supplies and security. And a portion of the sale's proceeds, will be donated to DBC Youth Missions Program.

  1. What is the time commitment if you sign up to be a consignor?
Each consignor is required to work 1-hour to help during the sale either with set-up, drop-off, sale time or tear down.
  1. Do consignors get to shop early?
Yes, we do allow our consignors priority shopping before the public comes in.
  1. Can I return items?
All items are purchased as is.  We do attempt to check everything that comes in, but we may miss one from time to time, so be sure you are happy with your purchase before paying.

  1. Can I bring my own shopping bag in?
We will provide a limited number of shopping baskets/bags for you when you enter the building.  Personal laundry baskets of standard size are also permitted, however they must transparent (holes in sides or clear).

RULES FOR KIDS SALE
Cash Only

Thank you for attending the Denver Kids Consignment Sale
& allowing us to bless the community with this event.

1.     2 lines – one for Fellowship Hall (toys/strollers/etc) and one for Gym (clothing/furniture/car seats). Both lines are first come, first served.

2.     We cannot allow strollers into the building due to safety/space concerns.

3.     A limited quantity of shopping bags will be provided.  Personal laundry baskets of standard size are allowed, but must be transparent (holes in side or clear).  No purses over the size of 10x10 will be allowed into the sale unless they are see-through.

4.     Children under the age of 5 will not be allowed into the sale unless they can be carried. God has blessed this sale so abundantly that we are running out of space and these new rules are for you and your child's safety.

5.     To purchase a large item, please take the “Register Copy” off and take it to the register to pay (you must pay immediately).  You will then be given a SOLD tag to put on the item.  All items need to be picked up by Saturday at 1:00.  Otherwise, they will be donated.

6.     All purchases are Final Sales and are purchased as is.

****INFORMATION CONCERNING THE ½ PRICE SALE****

Item Price:

  • Tags should be 1 long tag that has 2 distinct parts.  The top part should be the ITEM COPY and is where you attach the tag to your item.  The bottom ½ is for the register workers to TEAR off for you to get paid.
  • Tags should be safety-pinned on to clothing.
  • If  tape is used to put prices on toys or large items, please DO NOT cover the Register Copy as it will be difficult for us to get the information we need for our payment process.  Clear tape only.
  • Tags should be on the right hand side of the clothing (as you are looking at it).

  • Use number sizes when possible, to avoid items being placed in the wrong locations on the racks
  • If you DO NOT wish to have an item reduced ½ price on Saturday, please mark “NR” beside the Item Price on the REGISTER COPY.
  • Do not highlight items that have NR, they may get mixed up with the items that are being donated.
  • Mark junior-sized clothing with a “JR” in front of the numbered size.
